For a cheap little desk fan, you can’t do much better than this. While it’s mostly plastic, it still feels sturdy. It’s very quiet. On low, you’ll forget that it’s on. On high, it sounds like other fans’ low. And it’s cheap. I’ve been using it every day for a couple months (no trouble so far) and it makes summer bearable in my hot office.

I got this fan to keep my room cool during the hot summers and it’s even better than I expected. It’s VERY quiet and does a great job of keeping my small room at an acceptable temperature. I was skeptical such small fan would make any difference, but it has a lot of power behind it. The cord’s not too short and the fan adjust easily. The only assembly is snapping the fan onto the base. The price can’t be beat for the quality; I would highly recommend this fan!

Two speeds, drawing 10 and 15 watts respectively; very quiet, narrow stream so you might want to put it way across the room aiming at your chair.

Wow…all the small portable fans I had in my office…this is the BEST! It is very very quiet. My fan is about 7 feet away from my desk and I can hardly hear fan turning. My office is very quiet. My office provided me Honeywell portable fan, but it is EXTRA noisy…I mean VERY VERY noisy! I get complaints from my coworkers….but then I did not buy this Honeywell! Honeywell is collecting dusts under my desk.

I like this fan for my desk at work. It can get stuffy or too warm sometimes so it’s great at keeping me cool. Also, it is pretty quiet. The only thing that I didn’t care for was that it seemed I got one that was returned because of the way it was packaged. It’s working fine so guess that’s what matters.

Our boys wanted a fan for their room so we looked at several fans and decided to buy the supposedly “quiet” Vornado. Big mistake! We wanted a quiet fan for them but ended up deciding we also wanted a quiet fan for us as well. The Vornado made it self known all the way down the hall in our bedroom, even on its lowest setting. This time we were a bit more careful and finally decided on the Lasko 6″ Personal Fan. Big success! It has two levels and is quiet on both. Turns out the air coming from our registers when the air conditioner is on is louder than this fan. The design is not cheap either. The knob on the back that switches between OFF and levels 1 and 2 has a nice design.

Price: 10 out of 10 (there may be a fan just as good in design/low-noise, but not for the price – closest competitor was $10 more)
Design: 8 out of 10 (it is sturdy and doesn’t have one of those cheapo knobs – of course it’s cheap, but they made it very well for the price)
Cooling: 8 of 10 (again, this isn’t a Vornado – I just wanted decent air movement within a decent decibel range at a decent price – this has got all three)

I bought this for a friend who is going through “the change”! She has it on her desk at work and is very pleased with it.

Don’t look for this fan to have any effect on a large room, however, for those small rooms with limited space, this little fan is pretty good. I live in a CHU in Baghdad, which is a little smaller than a college dorm, so considering the limited space, this fan is perfect AND quite. It’s perfect for small spaces and if you don’t want to disturb those around you! Much smaller than I expected!

That’s what a fan should do, keep working. I have it on my desk at work running 24/7 for about a year now. Lasko fans are also quieter than many others, it does not disturb conversations, in fact I usually forget it is running.

I bought this fan for a month now. This fan works really well to cool down my notebook computer and external hard drive (I use speed 1, never use speed 2). About the noise, I put it right next to my laptop, so I know it is running but it does not bother me at ALL. I also like the design of the fan. The motor is cover with smooth hard pastic unlike those cheap pastic. Overall, I really recommend this fan to everyone.
